Introduction
elcome to the Truth & Liberty Covenant Coalition web site. We hope you enjoy your visit. This
site is intended as a focal point of information for advocates of traditional family values,
especially as expressed in public policy. Our Founders established a unique form of
government based on "natural law" principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence. John
Jay, co-author of The Federalist Papers,Founding Father, and the first Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court once said,
"Providence has given to our people the right to choose their leaders, and it is the privilege and the
duty of a Christian nation to choose and prefer Christians as their rulers."
That statement confirms that our Founders rejected the myth of "separation of church and state"
that permeates our public institutions today. We concur with John Jay, for, if Godly men and women
are not setting public policy, then ungodly men and women are. Government by the ungodly is a
detriment to both Christians and non-Christians alike.
Statement of Purpose
The Truth & Liberty Covenant Coalition exists to educate and activate citizens, particularly Christians
and others in the faith community, regarding public policy issues in local schools and government.
Truth & Liberty Covenant Coalition advocates action to encourage the leadership in local schools and
public policy making institutions to be open and responsive to the expressed will of the people, and,
therefore, to govern constitutionally deriving their just powers from the consent of governed.
To accomplish this purpose we support the election or appointment of like minded candidates for
positions on the City Council, School Board and other appropriate offices where the peoples business
is being conducted.
We oppose and work to prevent implementation of all laws or systems of laws from other nations or
institutions which are inconsistent with the constitution and laws of the United States of America and
which are anathema to the founding principles as articulated in the Declaration of Independence and
the Constitution of the United States.
TLCC recognizes the U.S. Constitution as the law of the land and acknowledges that this constitution
was formed primarily by Christians whose core values, based on Judeo-Christian orthodoxy, were
embodied as organic elements of all government institutions during the Founding Era.
For over 200 years our U. S. Constitutional law has provided our people with liberty, self rule and
prosperity far beyond that of all other nations. TLCC will respect these values when assessing local
laws and practices.
We advocate the concept of a “cultural mandate” which is best articulate by Chuck Colson when he
said, “This is why Christians must never limit themselves to evangelism alone or to the “feel good”
church. We must not stand by while our culture is hijacked by alien philosophies hostile to the created
order.” We agree wholeheartedly with this philosophy.
